FUNCTION BLOCK
FUNCTION
Known as a "spike " but actually produces a brief logic pulse.
  • The pulse time can be altered by VR1
  • The circuit has 2 trigger modes selected by a jumper:

Positive:
Produces a high pulse on a rising input

Negative:
Produces a low pulse on a falling input

NOTES

  • The pulse time varies from 0.19ms to 34ms.
  • The term spike refers to the shape of the graph showing the effect of a signal with a capacitor in series - it looks like a spike. The gates buffer this into a square logic pulse.

APPLICATIONS:

  • Timing control
  • Metronome
  • Ultrasonic tape measure
  • Reset / Latch pulse generation
