- 3 selectable frequency ranges
- Variable frequency adjustment of each range
- Frequency Modulation and Enable inputs
- Easy connection via terminal blocks
This astable is based upon the classic 555 timer. It has a stable square wave output with a mark/space ratio of around 1.5:1. There are 3 ranges set using the onboard jumper and variable adjustment within each range.
There are 2 control inputs. 'FM' - Frequency modulation which enables limited control of the output frequency. The 'Reset' input enables the astable to be stopped by connecting this input low.
The output can drive up to 200mA, meaning LEDs, buzzers and transducers can be connnected directly without the need for a driver. In some cases even relays and lamps can be driven directly also.
Connection is via block connectors, for the supply voltage, input signal and output. Power connections are at the inputs and output for easy connection to other Blok modules.
This module can be used alone or as part of a bigger project using the BLOX design system.
